Throughout his 25-year career in the utility industry, EEC Inc. founder and president John Egan has tackled a vast array of energy and utility communications challenges on both sides of the microphone – from crafting and delivering effective messages as a utility spokesman to analyzing and reporting those messages as a journalist.
His understanding of what works and what doesn’t in utility communications is based on his experience as a:
> communications consultant working with electric utilities, news organizations, and professional service firms;
> research director specializing in utility communications, marketing, and strategic planning;
> spokesperson for one of the largest public power utilities in the U.S.; and
> reporter and editor for a Washington, DC-based energy publication.
John is a reliable source of energy and utility industry experience. He is known for creating and customizing communications programs designed to achieve clients’ specific goals and objectives. John’s expertise and innovative thinking ensure that your message is crafted and delivered in the manner and medium you want.
John has received multiple awards from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). An adjunct faculty member at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, John earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
